Drupal is our current favourite content management system. It’s very powerful and flexible and allows us to build websites which can evolve to meet a business’s changing needs. Drupal also empowers our clients to easily maintain the content of their websites themselves.

Since 2015, we’ve worked closely with the Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to architect and develop an enterprise Drupal platform to host all the various NI government websites.
This website consolidation project has reduced complexity by standardising all existing and new websites onto a single platform, and has improved the user experience by implementing a consistent, responsive, and accessible design across all the websites.
Departmental sites
The Northern Ireland Executive website, plus the websites for the nine government departments are all hosted on a single Drupal multi-domain environment. This allows content to be easily shared between the various websites.
- Northern Ireland Executive
- The Executive Office
- Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs
- Department for Communities
- Department for the Economy
- Department of Education
- Department of Finance
- Department of Health

Nidirect
Nidirect is one of the busiest websites in Northern Ireland with over 1 million unique visitors per week. It is the trusted source of government information for Northern Ireland citizens with over 7000 pages of content.
Multi-lingual sites
Drupal has excellent internationalisation functionality, making it possible to build multi-lingual websites with content published in different languages.
Agencies and arms length bodies
NICS have a large number of individual websites for various agencies and other public bodies. Our architects and developers have helped NICS to build a single Drupal multi-site environment to host all these websites. This standardises the look-and-feel and allows functionality to be re-used across the different websites.
